Our Story

Attard is a quiet area located between Mdina and Valletta in the central part of Malta. Along with the towns Balzan and Lija, they form “the three villages” as they are so close to each other. In fact, one side of the street can be in one village and the opposite side could belong to another village. The Local Council of Attard are keen on caring for the many recreational openings they have, such as Due to Attard’s flower and citrus gardens, the villages motto in Florigera Rosis Halo, which is “I perfume the air with my blossoms” in English. Attard’s people are called saraċini, and about 10,300 people live in an area of 7 km2.

At Main Street Bistro, you’ll find serious food in a chilled-out setting, without pretence or the price-tag, offering guilt-free dining.

Well-cooked, honest, uncomplicated but imaginative food, with a huge emphasis on locally sourced produce. We’re lucky, we have our chefs who carefully choose their daily deliveries of the best meat, vegetables and dairy products.

Unfussy, knowledgeable service from staff who actually love food and love looking after people. Traditional, informal interiors and atmosphere, where we want you to be able to kick back, start with a good English breakfast, have a quick lunch, or relax over a nice glass of wine (or two!) and enjoy our de-poshified fine food, where you can chill in comfort after an unhurried meal.

We also host events like private dinners at Main Street Bistro, so please let us know if we can help plan and deliver the occasion of your dreams.

Because we’d like you to come back, we also price our menu as keenly as possible.

Training is at the core of what we do. From our basic training to our advanced barista program, we believe that at all levels, our staff need to be given the tools to succeed.
